Farm League Rules
Section A
Your Farm Team
Prospects originally drafted through our prospect drafts or are Yahoo available are eligible to be picked up (See Also Section C). Otherwise such prospects will be available in the following years' prospect draft.
As we know several of our prospects on our Farm clubs are on the Yahoo FA List. So when picking up a FA it is important to ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK The Updated Prospect Protected List that is posted periodically on the yahoo message Board.
Please remember if you choose to call up, send down, trade or cut one of your prospects or pick up a FA unprotected prospect to your parent club and send him down to your Farm Club ALWAYS ANNOUNCE YOUR INTENTIONS on Yahoo message Board FOR ALL TO SEE, in which the protected prospect list can be updated.
If a veteran is sent down to the farm by actual NHL club or for Rehab assignment, please post a legit news link to prove this. This is important so all in league can see they qualify under league rules (See Below).
Section B
(1) If a farm player originally drafted but not listed by yahoo is dropped by a team, he is still available to the team with the highest waiver priority.
Any Teams interested may make a claim on that player via email to the commish.
All emails must include these intentions and if necessary a player they would wish to drop from their minor league squad. After 48 hours, commish will look at who has placed claims on that player, and the team with the highest waiver priority will have that player added and the waiver priority would be adjusted accordingly. The decision will subsequently announced on the Yahoo message board after this time.
(2) Similarly if a player is sent down & called up by NHL team (see Sec D2) or loses his minor league eligibility (D1) and the owner chooses not to retain his services but release him, he the owner must make an announcement about his intentions on the yahoo message board after dropping him.
Despite being an FA he cannot just be picked up by any team. He will be available to the team with the highest waiver priority
Any Teams interested may make a claim on that player via email only.
All emails must include these intentions and if necessary a player they would wish to drop from their minor league squad or main roster. After 48 hours (from the time announcement of drop made), I will look at who has placed claims on that player, and the team with the highest waiver priority will have that player added and their waiver priority reset. The decision will subsequently announced on the Yahoo message board after this time.
After this the owner awarded such player will have his roster adjusted by the Commish.
On the other hand if no claims are put in the commish will similarly make an announcement about this and that player will become a FA.
Section C
How long can a team keep a player on their farm team before they are called up?
Forwards/Defenseman
A skater shall be considered a 'Protected Prospect' until he has played more than 82 games in the NHL.
Goalie
A goalie shall be considered a 'Protected Prospect' until he has played more than 50 games in the NHL.
Definition of "Players"
Players are ti be defined as follows...
83+ games (51+ for goalies) for a veteran player
82gm (50gm) and below for prospect player
What happens when my prospect has exceed the limit, but I forget to call up him to my parent club?
(1) Since we are human and we are not going to track every prospect when they exceeds their limit. You will have til before the first of the next month to call up your player. This means when a prospect exceeds the limit at the start of a month, you have some wiggle room til the end of the month. But if a prospect exceeds the limit at the end of a month, its unfortunate, but you would need to call him up by the 1st of the next month.
(2) Even after a player has exceeds the above quota limit, if he is sent to minors, by his real NHL team, he may be sent down in this league. Similarly, he should be recalled if the NHL team calls him back up. You will have til the night of the player's 2nd game in from when he returns to call the player to your parent club.
If you still fail to call up your farm player, you will loose rights to that very player automatically on the start of the 2nd day (12:00am) of the month. The player will then go onto waiver, thus waiver rules will then be followed. If no waiver claims have been made then the dropped farm player will be automatically subject to free agency by 12:00am on the 4th Day of the Month.
*Only successful waiver claims will be announced on yahoo
*Please note that if such a player is sent down other then for rehab - see below, he should be activated in line with the above rule.
(3) Rehab Exception - Any player sent down for rehab during the season may also be sent down to your farm club.
Please note Such a player should be activated in line with the following rule:
Must be activated no later then the eve of his 2nd NHL Game back.

Please note Such a player should be activated in line with the following rule: Must be activated Immediately after his 1st NHL Game back.
Retirement - Any player that retires may be sent down to your farm club and may be kept there until the owner choose to release the retired player from his farm team.
(5) Long-Term Injury - If any player gets places on the official long-term injury will be eligible to be sent down. (Must be recalled once the player is off IR - follow rule number 2 just above)
Please note Such a player should be activated in line with the following rule:
